This may be depicted by showing conflict between natives and settlers or U.S Cavalry or between sheep and cattle farmers, or by showing ranchers being threatened by the onset of the Industrial Revolution. The Man who shot Liberty Valance is classified to be a western because well its directed by one of the most Western Directors John Ford, and the overall bad-ass in every western movie John Wayne. The Story takes in the Western of the United States, even though it was a spaghetti-western, and there is a total conflict with society in the city and people.
